In October 2024, the EPA released the final Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) to strengthen the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) promulgated in 2021. Most of the improvements go into effect November 1, 2027. For the latest information, this is a list of FAQs our experts are receiving from water utilities about the LCRI. This explainer is our team's interpretation of the rule as they are reviewing the changes.
