Kings County Hospital’s aging infrastructure, constant occupancy and limited shutdown windows made traditional upgrades difficult. To reduce energy use and modernize systems, NYC Health + Hospitals turned to CDM Smith to design and manage a $12.4M efficiency program for long-term sustainability.

CDM Smith replaced 650 windows, upgraded more than a thousand light fixtures and coordinated night and weekend shutdowns to keep hospital functions running.
