Minamide returns to CDM Smith after serving as the Interim Director and General Manager at LA Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) for the city of Los Angeles. A few of Minamide’s major accomplishments over the course of her career include leading planning for the 25-MGD Donald C. Tillman Advanced Water Purification Facility progressive design-build project and collaborating to develop the Pure Water Los Angeles Program, a potable reuse effort to produce up to 230-MGD of purified water for the city. Minamide also led the design-build Hyperion Bioenergy Facility Project which utilizes co-generation of digester gas to produce 25-MW of green power making the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant 100% self-sufficient. 

Traci’s extensive experience and water reuse knowledge will further propel our water reuse and desalination project portfolio forward.

Minamide has a bachelor’s in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University – Pomona and a master’s in civil engineering from Loyola Marymount University. She is a licensed civil engineer in California and Washington. Minamide received the Asian American Architects and Engineers Leadership Award in 2023, is a former President of the California Association of Sanitation Agencies and served on California State Water Resources Board Advisory Panel for Direct Potable Reuse. She is a previous Board Member for Clean Water So Cal and currently serves as a Board Member of the California WateReuse Association. She was also recognized as an Industry Practice Leader by Loyola Marymount University in 2024.
