LCRI Timeline

LCRI Timeline

EPA issued final Lead and Copper Rule Improve­ments (LCRI) in October 2024. Most of the LCRI require­ments will go into effect in 2027. This timeline will help guide your utility's plan to get the lead out and protect public health.

The Biden admin­is­tra­tion finalized the LCRI in 2024. With the new Trump admin­is­tra­tion, there is a possibility it could be changed or repealed, allowing the LCRR to take effect.
