The Serengeti National Park draws in approximately 500,000 visitors annually, primarily via motorized transport. Heightened traffic congestion and logistical complexities pose a significant threat to the park’s fragile ecosystems. Together, CDM Smith and Trinnex will leverage a tailored digital traffic management ITMS to enhance visitor experiences, facilitate a more balanced distribution of vehicles, prioritize the preservation of wildlife habitats, alleviate soil compaction and minimize disturbances to the park's wildlife. The project will span three years and encompass various phases including conceptualization, design, procurement and training.
