- Rebecca Ryan: Noted top 50 professional futurist, economist, best-selling author and entrepreneur. She is the founder of NEXT Generation Consulting through which she partners with government leaders across the country. Looking a generation ahead, she outlines strategies in urban planning, economic development and workforce development to ensure communities are well equipped for future trends and challenges. Rebecca is a graduate of Drake University with a certificate in Strategic Foresight from University of Houston; she is the Resident Futurist at the Alliance for Innovation and on the Executive Committee of the global Association of Professional Futurists.
- Matt Goss: Builder of our energy practice, Matt spearheads the strategic development and execution of CDM Smith’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection and energy related projects and opportunities. He works with global colleagues in a matrixed organization to identify technical resources, develop project approaches and apply digital/technology solutions to successfully execute project objectives. Additionally, he supports the development and recruitment of all CDM Smith’s Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Energy engineering staff and resources.
- Sam Gerber: Mechanical engineer supporting several of the firm’s geothermal and utility thermal energy network projects, leading first-of-their-kind projects in NYC and elsewhere. He also has experience in energy efficiency, energy engineering, HVAC systems, AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and Revit. He has knowledge of data analysis and power distribution. He has experience using MATLAB, SolidWorks Simulation, and ANSYS Workbench 2018.
- Jeff Donaldson: Our clean energy discipline leader and has 16 years of experience in the analysis and design of electrical distribution systems for various facilities including water, wastewater, healthcare and transportation. He is experienced in designing and evaluating the resiliency of electrical distribution systems, including evaluating renewable technologies such as solar, wind, and batteries to form microgrids for clients.
- Lukas Wallrabe: Deputy Head of Business Development and guiding force behind the Grid Booster Kupferzell in Germany, the largest grid battery storage in the world. Since 2022, Lukas Wallrabe has shaped the development of strategic relationships at CDM Smith, focusing on the expansion of new business areas. His strategic mindset and creative approach have been instrumental in accelerating our company’s growth, especially in the energy transition sector. He is especially proud of having built a strong network of partners, maintaining good customer relationships, and successfully acquiring major projects in the area of battery storage systems, where CDM Smith supports clients from permitting to implementation.
