Senior Transportation Project Manager John McGuiggin Joins CDM Smith
AUSTIN - John McGuiggin, PE, PMP, CGFM joins CDM Smith as a principal and senior project manager. McGuiggin brings 33 years of experience at the U.S. Department of Transportation and has a comprehensive perspective on federal transportation challenges.
McGuiggin has extensive experience developing and leading large (>$75M) programs involving civil and environmental engineering and transportation safety. He successfully led the project team responsible for the Region 8 Libby Asbestos Project—one of the largest, most complex Superfund Program projects ever conducted in the United States. McGuiggin earned an Environmental Protection Agency Silver Medal and a Department of Justice Commendation and the Excellence in Environmental Engineering Honor Award for Operations/Management from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers for his leadership on this project. He also managed the Federal Railroad Administration Amtrak Capital Improvement Program and helped establish the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Program Management Office.

McGuiggin has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a master’s in civil-environmental engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College. He is also a member of the Association of Government Accountants, a member of the Project Management Institute and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
