Rodney Mutter, PE, BCEE
Rodney Mutter is CDM Smith’s drinking water residuals discipline leader with over 30 years of experience in municipal drinking water and wastewater engineering. Rodney’s career includes comprehensive work in research planning studies, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction services for water treatment and residuals handling projects.
Rodney has been instrumental in several high-profile drinking water projects and is an expert in regulatory compliance and permitting, residuals storage and treatment, mechanical and non-mechanical dewatering, solids disposal, recycling/reuse, and beneficial use of water treatment residuals. Rodney has handled facility design work for new water treatment plants, including plants located in Florida, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Oregon, and New Mexico.
Rodney’s work has a global impact. He led efforts to design and implement a comprehensive water treatment system that addressed severe contamination issues in Jordan. The project not only delivered clean, safe drinking water to thousands of residents but also provided long-term solutions for resource management and infrastructure resilience.

Our goal is to provide long-term solutions for resource management and infrastructure resilience.
