Kevin Pasternak, PG
Kevin brings almost three decades of professional experience in hydrogeology, environmental site investigation, characterization, soil and groundwater remediation, aquifer testing, and remedial design.
“My favorite part of the job is digging into the details to gain a solid understanding of site environmental issues and conditions at a local and regional scale, identifying the data gaps,” Kevin says. “Then, I can apply a scientific methodology and the integration of hydrogeology, geochemistry, stratigraphy and structural geology to fill the gaps and solve the site’s environmental issue.”
A licensed geologist in Arizona, Texas, and Wyoming, he has successfully managed projects with an emphasis on site specific hydrogeologic models, Nonaqueous Phase Liquid (NAPL) remediation, monitoring natural attenuation and the application of site-specific risk-based action levels.
Kevin is proud to have designed, installed, maintained, and monitored numerous groundwater recovery wells, NAPL recovery wells, and soil vapor and multi-phase extraction wells for groundwater remediation systems adjacent to surface waters, including streams, lakes, and harbors. Application of these various systems have significantly reduced NAPL and dissolved contaminate mass while maintaining hydraulic control of the affected groundwater. Most importantly, the systems have successfully protected surface water from the NAPL and contaminated groundwater exposure pathway.

CDM Smith has an excellent reputation, and I want to work and collaborate with the experts at CDM Smith to solve difficult and complex hydrogeologic and environmental problems.
