Environmental Modeling Expert Joins CDM Smith
New York, NY— CDM Smith is proud to welcome civil environmental modeling expert Rooni Mathew to its environmental services group. Mathew brings nearly 20 years of experience in the theory, development, and application of surface water, bioaccumulation, and aquatic toxicity models to the firm. His talents will be invaluable to CDM Smith’s environmental services, as modeling increasingly plays a significant role in shaping decisions and policies.
Mathew has an extensive understanding of the entire modeling process and has designed graphical user interfaces and software packages for public distribution of models. His articles on modeling have been published in the peer-reviewed journals Ocean Dynamics and Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.
Mathew has developed and applied models for a number of impact studies, sediment management initiatives, remediation efforts and other projects that affect coastal waters, estuaries, and rivers around the world. From Coos Bay, Oregon to the New Jersey Meadowlands to Colombia’s Port of Buenaventura, Mathew has become a leading talent in the field. His range of expertise extends to the development of field sampling programs and conceptual site models, fate and transport processes, and model calibration metrics. In addition to numerical models, he is also experienced with the development and application of analytical models.
