The award recognizes ambitious leaders in the transportation industry that are working to find creative solutions to improve quality of life through engineering and the development of commuting alternative programs.

PHILADELPHIA—Transportation engineers Michael Keller and Alexander Eadline were recognized as two of GVF’s Top Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Professionals Under 40. The award recognizes ambitious leaders in the industry that are working to find creative solutions to improve our quality of life through engineering, planning, marketing campaigns, and the development of commuting alternative programs that are shifting behavioral change.

With a passion for transportation design, Keller has applied his expertise in traffic analysis and traffic signal design with CDM Smith for the past six years. His involvement with pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements in the Philadelphia area partly contributed to his recognition as a top TDM professional. “It is rewarding to know that my efforts, and those of the other award recipients, to expand the industry's focus beyond a car-centric point of view do not go unnoticed,” he said.

With over a decade of progressive transportation engineering experience, Eadline currently works as a transportation engineer and project manager at CDM Smith. Having also been an active member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Delaware Valley Section, he has worked on numerous highway projects including bridge replacements to large-scale roadway reconstruction. “As a transportation engineer, I have the unique opportunity to work collaboratively with an organization like GVF, both as problem-solving practitioner and end-user of travel alternatives,” he said. “I’m honored to be recognized for my contributions in implementing creative transportation solutions that improve the quality of life for all users.”

“Mike and Alex’s design work does not just focus on vehicular traffic but considers all modes of transportation. Even at an early age, their guidance and leadership at CDM Smith is training the next generation of engineers that will contribute to our society,” said Kazi Hassan, CDM Smith project manager.
