Dr. Ahmad Habibian Named Editor-in-Chief of ASCE Pipeline Journal
FAIRFAX, Virginia—CDM Smith is pleased to announce that Dr. Ahmad Habibian, CDM Smith’s Practice Leader for Conveyance, was recently appointed Editor-in-Chief of The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice. Habibian will oversee the assignment, review and publication of peer-reviewed papers in pipeline engineering and practice.
Established in 2009, the ASCE Journal is a professional, authoritative technical resource covering a broad range of topics pertaining to the planning, engineering, design, construction, renewal, safety, operation and maintenance, asset management, resilience, environmental aspects, and sustainability of pipeline systems. As an important technical reference for researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government, the Journal presents in-depth information on water distribution and transmission systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, oil and gas pipelines, and freight pipelines, as well as conduit applications for power and communication cables.
Habibian has been instrumental to the creation of the Journal and has been an active board member since its founding, previously serving as Associate Editor under former Editor-in-Chief Dr. Mo Najafi. As the new Editor-in-Chief, Habibian will strive to ensure the Journal maintains its tradition of publishing scholarly papers of the highest quality and provide a forum for pipeline professionals and researchers to share the results of their research and unique experiences.
