Dr. Ahmad Habibian Named Editor-in-Chief of ASCE Pipeline Journal 

FAIRFAX, Virginia—CDM Smith is pleased to announce that Dr. Ahmad Habibian, CDM Smith’s Practice Leader for Conveyance, was recently appointed Editor-in-Chief of The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice. Habibian will oversee the assignment, review and publication of peer-reviewed papers in pipeline engineering and practice.  

Established in 2009, the ASCE Journal is a profes­sional, author­i­ta­tive technical resource covering a broad range of topics pertaining to the planning, engineering, design, construc­tion, renewal, safety, operation and maintenance, asset management, resilience, envi­ron­men­tal aspects, and sustain­abil­ity of pipeline systems. As an important technical reference for researchers and prac­ti­tion­ers from academia, industry, and government, the Journal presents in-depth information on water distri­b­u­tion and trans­mis­sion systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, oil and gas pipelines, and freight pipelines, as well as conduit appli­ca­tions for power and commu­ni­ca­tion cables.

Habibian has been instru­men­tal to the creation of the Journal and has been an active board member since its founding, previously serving as Associate Editor under former Editor-in-Chief Dr. Mo Najafi. As the new Editor-in-Chief, Habibian will strive to ensure the Journal maintains its tradition of publishing scholarly papers of the highest quality and provide a forum for pipeline profes­sion­als and researchers to share the results of their research and unique experiences.
