HOLLISTON, Massachusetts—CDM Smith is proud to be the recipient of the 2020 Young Professional Employer Support Award from the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA), the region’s largest and oldest not-for-profit organization of water works professionals. This award recognizes an employer who has made a significant effort in supporting and promoting younger member involvement through active participation in NEWWA programs, committees and/or presentations. Younger members are defined as members under the age of 35 or new to the water works profession.

CDM Smith is committed to providing an unmatched employee experience that is rich in professional development opportunities and fosters personal leadership, career growth and development for every employee. CDM Smith has supported the participation of their younger and newer employees on several NEWWA volunteer committees, which include program, membership, university outreach, water resources and young professionals committees. The firm currently supports four young professional members in various roles in these committees, including the chair position. Many CDM Smith young professionals have also participated in NEWWA’s mentoring program as mentees or mentors.

Accepting the award at the virtual 139th annual conference were CDM Smith young professionals Michaela Bogosh, Colleen Heath, Jihyon Im and Rebecca Guihan, along with mentors David Polcari, Lisa Gove and Alan LeBlanc.

CDM Smith not only provides opportunities for young professionals to network within NEWWA by supporting their attendance at events, but also encourages young leaders to actively participate by contributing to the technical program at NEWWA conferences and serving as panelists at college and university career events.

The New England Water Works Association is a nonprofit, independent, member-driven organization dedicated to serving the region’s water works professionals and the public interest.
