Five CDM Smith Employees Approved for Board Certification by AAEES

The American Academy of Envi­ron­men­tal Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) has recently approved five candidates from CDM Smith for Board Certi­fi­ca­tion: Benjamin J. Finnegan, PE, BCEE; Melissa A. Harclerode, PhD, ENV SP, BCES; Srikanth Koduri, PE, BCEE; Lisa M. Sterling, PE, BCEE; and Shayne Wood, PE, BCEE. The AAEES certifies envi­ron­men­tal engineers and scientists who have at least eight years of experience and have demon­strated a mastery of skills and knowledge beyond that which profes­sional licensure requires. According to AAEES, “The BCEE, BCEEM, and BCES titles are inter­na­tion­ally recognized as premium credentials that are awarded to experienced profes­sion­als who have demon­strated expertise in one or more areas of special­iza­tion.”

Benjamin J. Finnegan, PE, BCEE
Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering
Mr. Finnegan is a process engineer, technical specialist, and project manager, with 9 years of experience at CDM Smith, designing water treatment facilities and process improve­ments for utilities across the globe.

Melissa A. Harclerode, PhD, ENV SP, BCES
Sustain­abil­ity Science
Dr. Harclerode is an envi­ron­men­tal sustain­abil­ity scientist and project manager with 12 years of experience, designing and managing projects involving remediation assignments, climate change vulner­a­bil­ity assessments and adaptation plans, and sustain­abil­ity evaluations.

Srikanth Koduri, PE, BCEE
Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering
Mr. Koduri is an envi­ron­men­tal engineer with 11 years of water and wastewater treatment experience at the firm, including feasibility studies, preliminary design, detailed design and construc­tion management.

Lisa M. Sterling, PE, BCEE
Solid Waste Management
Ms. Sterling is an envi­ron­men­tal engineer with over 17 years of experience in wastewater, water, solid waste and air pollution permitting in Florida and Louisiana, and a background in project management and water resources planning.

Shayne Wood, PE, BCEE
Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering
Mr. Wood is a water resources engineer and senior project manager with over 19 years of experience in many areas including integrated water resources planning and design, surface and groundwater modeling, ecosystem restoration, and hazardous waste site assessment and remediation.

Each of these five board-certified engineers and scientists have met nationally recognized standards for education, knowledge, experience and skills. These recent Board Certi­fi­ca­tions serve as a mark of distinction and a testament to the high-quality services they each deliver in their respective areas of special­iza­tion.
