Dr.-Ing. Ayman Elnaas
Dr.-Ing. Ayman Elnaas received his doctoral degree in Solid Waste Management at the University of Rostock, Germany. At CDM Smith, he works as a project engineer in the International Division, where he focuses on Strategies and Feasibility Studies for Waste Management system including solid waste characterisation and needs assessment analysis and Municipal solid waste treatment (Mechanical-biological treatment, Bio-drying, composting and RDF production).
Ayman Elnaas has already been involved in various projects in many developing countries in North Africa and Middle East as well as in Eastern Europe, including a mechanical biological treatment demonstration pilot project in Tunisia to produce alternative fuel (RDF) and the implementation of the National Solid Waste Management Program in two Governorates in Egypt. At CDM Smith, Ayman Elnaas applies his experience primarily to solid waste management projects in North Africa and Middle East.

What’s something you enjoy doing on your day off? Spending time outdoors with plants, animals, and real-world materials like wood, tools, and machinery.
How can your work style be described? I would describe my work style as flexible and adaptable. I’m able to work independently but also can work in a more team-oriented structure. I can also react to unexpected challenges and changes and stay focused and effective.
