We are supporting the Mallee CMA in the capture of a detailed below-ground salinity dataset along the River Murray corridor. This data will provide the client with crucial information to effectively manage groundwater, irrigation and environmental watering, and contribute to mitigating salinity impact to the river. The project involves a wide-ranging airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey of over 22,000 km of data, as well as a comprehensive field program obtaining additional hydrogeological information. CDM Smith is working closely with the CSIRO to transfer the AEM data into usable maps for resource managers to effectively manage salinity risks in the future.

Partnered with CSIRO to deliver cutting-edge airborne electromagnetic inversion processes to prioritize project objectives and provide detailed sub-surface salinity mapping
SkyTEM and CDM Smith teams captured airborne and ground data from over 22,000 km of AEM helicopter flight lines and 230 groundwater bores across the region.
Close collaboration with client’s communication team to keep community, landholders and stakeholder groups engaged and supported
The client has valued CDM Smith’s working relationship and a collaborative approach to delivering this project. The Mallee CMA project team, alongside CDM Smith, CSIRO and SkyTEM, appreciate the relationships that have been developed which continue to provide valuable connections to solve project issues as they arise. The group successfully delivered the capture of 4,320 km2 of AEM data with a program of proactive community engagement, effective project planning, and professional field activities.
