Reconciliation

We are committed to fostering meaningful relationships, embracing cultural understanding, and supporting reconciliation through ongoing learning, collaboration, and action. Together, we strive to create a more inclusive and respectful future for all.

CDM Smith Australia acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and acknowledges their continuing connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respects to the people, their culture and Elders past, present and emerging.

CDM Smith Australia is committed to walking a meaningful and sustained journey of reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. With our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) now formally endorsed, we have taken an important step in recognising our responsibility to listen, learn and act with purpose. This endorsement marks the beginning of a more deliberate and accountable approach to strengthening relationships, deepening cultural understanding, and embedding respect across our business.

Our Reflect RAP acknowledges our commitment to building genuine partnerships, creating opportunities for engagement and collaboration, and fostering a workplace where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions are recognised and valued. We know reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to taking meaningful action that supports greater understanding, inclusion and positive impact for our people, our clients and the communities in which we work.

Our Artwork

This artwork represents the deep and continuing connection between Aboriginal people, Country, and community. The central meeting place reflects CDM Smith’s commitment to reconciliation and respectful partnerships, with pathways extending outward like rivers—symbolising connection, collaboration and movement across lands and waters. The surrounding circles show community hubs, knowledge-sharing, and the strength found in unity. The design pays tribute to the rivers (bila) and pathways (ngurang-bu) that have guided our people for generations. As a proud Wiradjuri man, my art is a way to honour those stories and create space for truth, respect and shared future journeys. It has been a pleasure to be a part of CDM's journey to Reconciliation.
