CDM Smith provided comprehensive pre- and post-contract services for the King Salman Street Viaduct, ensuring seamless and free-flow access to Dubai Harbour. We validated traffic study and developed an integrated, workable solution. Services included study validation, detailed design, tender documentation and construction supervision.
The project includes structural, road and bridge engineering to deliver safe, efficient access routes to Dubai Harbour. Our multidisciplinary team ensured that all elements—from utilities to drainage and lighting—were coordinated for smooth implementation.
We reviewed approved concepts, validated traffic study, and developed revised road concepts to optimize free-flow movements to and from Sheikh Zayed Road. The approach strengthens connectivity while supporting Dubai Harbour’s long-term development needs.
We identified necessary modifications within the existing corridor to integrate new structures with current road networks, utilities and land uses. This ensured minimal disruption while delivering major upgrades to the surrounding transport system.
Services covered preliminary and final design, stakeholder approvals, tendering, tender assessment and full construction supervision. We ensured continuity from concept through completion of construction, maintaining quality, safety and compliance throughout project delivery.
Dubai Harbour is an iconic waterfront destination featuring the region’s premier Superyacht Marina, a major cruise terminal and a range of entertainment and tourism experiences. To support this world-class development, Shamal Development appointed CDM Smith to deliver pre- and post-contract consultancy services for the construction of the King Salman Street Viaduct. Our scope included validating traffic studies, reviewing approved concepts and proposing revised, workable solutions to ensure free-flow access between Dubai Harbour and Sheikh Zayed Road. We provided all required engineering services for the viaduct and associated roadworks, covering bridges, utilities, street lighting, storm water drainage and landscaping. Work included preliminary and final design, approvals, tender documents, tendering support and full construction supervision. The coordinated, multidisciplinary approach ensured that the new infrastructure integrates seamlessly with existing corridors and supports the long-term vision for Dubai Harbour.
