CDM Smith provides field investigations, studies in geotechnics, traffic and environmental, concept design, preliminary design and detailed design services for local roads, arterial corridors and access routes, drainage, water, wastewater, electrical and telecom networks. Through a task-order framework, we deliver complete road and infrastructure aligned with land use plans, utilities and drainage systems, ensuring safe, efficient and future-ready transport networks.
We design local roads, arterial corridors and access roads supporting new subdivisions and strategic wet and dry utilities. The designs improve connectivity, traffic flow and safety while accommodating future growth across large development areas.
Road designs are fully coordinated with flood runoff, surface-groundwater, wastewater, irrigation and complete utility networks. This integrated approach reduces conflicts, supports constructability and ensures efficient use of the right-of-way across complex urban environments.
All road designs comply with the Qatar Highway Design Manual, Qatar Traffic Control Manual, Qatar Sewerage & Drainage Design Manual and Qatar Construction Specifications. This ensures consistency, regulatory approval and practical, buildable outcomes across all task orders.
The task-order model allows us to respond quickly to Ashghal’s priorities, delivering multiple road packages simultaneously while maintaining consistent quality, design standards and coordination across the Western Area.
CDM Smith was tasked to deliver road and infrastructure design services across approximately 6,500 hectares. The scope includes the planning and design of local roads, arterial routes and access roads supporting residential subdivisions, strategic facilities and regional corridors. We are responsible for traffic studies, geotechnics, environmental, geometric design, pavement design, intersections, interchanges and coordination with wet/drainage and dry utility networks. Ongoing task orders include subdivision road networks, arterial road packages and long access corridors serving camps and remote developments. Through standards-compliant design and phased delivery, we are supporting Qatar’s long-term transport and urban development objectives.
