As design engineering consultant, CDM Smith implements a structured digital delivery framework to manage multi-discipline design across numerous task orders. The approach integrates BIM, common data environments, and standardized workflows to support coordination, quality control and regulatory compliance. Digital tools are applied to improve design accuracy, reduce clashes and enable efficient collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
We apply BIM across roads, drainage and utility design to improve spatial coordination, reduce conflicts and enhance constructability. Integrated models support clear visualization and informed decision-making throughout the design lifecycle.
Digital standards, templates and naming conventions are applied consistently across all task orders. This ensures data integrity, efficient approvals and smooth information exchange with Ashghal and other authorities.

Automated checks, model reviews and digital QA/QC processes help identify design issues early. This reduces rework, supports compliance with Qatar standards and improves overall design quality.
A common data environment enables secure document control, real-time collaboration and transparent reporting. Stakeholders have timely access to accurate information, supporting faster reviews, and informed decision-making.
We deliver digital delivery services as part of our role for Qatar’s western area infrastructure program. The scope includes implementing BIM execution plans, managing common data environments, and supporting coordinated multi-discipline design across numerous road and infrastructure packages. Digital workflows are used to integrate road geometry, drainage, utilities and structures into federated models, enabling effective clash detection and constructability reviews. Standardized digital processes support regulatory submissions, design reviews and approvals while maintaining consistency across concurrent task orders. Through structured information management and BIM-led delivery, CDM Smith enhances design quality, coordination and efficiency across the program.
