Dubai Roads & Transport Authority appointed CDM Smith to expand and enhance Dubai’s cycle and jogging track network across several strategic locations, including Al Warqa to Seih Al Salam, International City, Al Nahda–Tunis Road, Hor Al Anz, Jumeirah Al Khail Road, Jumeirah Satwa–Al Quoz and multiple community internal corridors. The goal is to elevate active mobility by improving accessibility, user safety and overall experience through enhanced open space design and movement planning. We studied cyclist and pedestrian flows, accessibility requirements for people of determination, parking requirements, bus circulation and connections to adjacent land uses. The project also included roads and intersection improvements to ensure seamless integration of new cycle track alignments. We were responsible for delivering preliminary studies, detailed design, tender documents and construction supervision services, supporting Dubai’s commitment to a walkable, bicycle-friendly city.
