BOSTON—The landmark Metolong dam and water supply program in the Kingdom of Lesotho in Southern Africa has been recognized for excellence by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) with an unprecedented win in two award categories: Infrastructure and International.
The Metolong dam and water supply program supports a collection of major towns, including Lesotho's capitol, Maseru, and helps to stimulate the region's economy through the creation of jobs and the improvement in health due to clean water.
Why CDM Smith? I had a huge fascination with environmental engineering as I was growing up. I was fortunate to earn my MS degree at UCF with Dr. Reinhart (aka the Landfill Lady) as my advisor. Right after graduation, CDM Smith provided me the opportunity to apply that knowledge to real world issues and challenges. CDM Smith, which is a relatively big company but also functions as a family, gave me the perfect platform to launch a successful career.
