Dr.-Ing. Volker Schrenk

Volker Schrenk became interested in envi­ron­men­tal topics at a very early age, which is why he decided to study geoecology. He wrote his disser­ta­tion on the topic of life cycle assessment of remediation tech­nolo­gies . Remediation  together with land management and land recycling, is one of his areas of expertise. At CDM Smith he is a local team leader in the Environment and Energy business area.

With his profes­sional competence and many years of experience in project management, he accompanies numerous projects such as the preparation for construc­tion and reuse of brownfields or groundwater remediation. He is responsible for project management projects. An example of this is the remediation of a CHC damage by soil vapour extraction combined with steam-air injection in the old town of Oberursel and subsequent ISCO remediation (in-situ chemical oxidation) of the aquifer at the site. During the construction of the new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport, he worked as a project manager on the recycling of PFAS-contaminated soil material and is involved in several other projects on the subject of PFAS.
