Andrew J. McLean, MPP, JD

“I am passionate about working on public policy that improves the lives of people,” says Andrew McLean, trans­porta­tion policy specialist at CDM Smith. “The work we do—whether that is building a bridge, a new water line, developing EV charging stations, or trans­form­ing the way we pay for our infra­struc­ture—all help to improve our communities and the lives of the people who live in them.”

As a practicing attorney and former law clerk for the Maine Superior Court, Andrew has dedicated his work to developing public policy that improves quality of life. Andrew’s unique combination of policy experience and legal knowledge expertly positions him as a skilled trans­porta­tion strategist, messenger, and mediator. 

He served as a legislator in the Maine House of Repre­sen­ta­tives for eight years, and as Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Trans­porta­tion for six years. He gained a statewide reputation as a leader on trans­porta­tion policy, working to build bipartisan support for proposals that increased revenue for trans­porta­tion projects and new and innovative ways to reform the state’s funding model, including the development of a road usage charge program.
